Indian in full headdress & loincloth holding a tomahawk sitting on a horse & riding against the sunset. Molded trees & landscape in the background. Oval frame (13x 15h.) is molded braided rope encircling its crown. The frame &the base were cast as a single piece. Painted red glass (original) is enclosed in the frame and creates the impression of a sunset when backlighted by the light bulb behind the glass. The plaster is airbrushed in gilt, blue, green & red. 17 1/2 h. x 13 w. Unsigned. 1940s or 1950s. A lamp with a very similar pose of an Indian on horseback exists marked Florence ArtCo., but it has a different frame & base, appears to be poorly molded, and is gaudy to the point of ugliness. All paint is original. There are a few small minor scratches or chips on the paint of both the glass & the plaster as shown in the photo. The original electrical cord is frayed.
