Tin cylindrical top (4 1/4 h. x 6 1/2 d.) is soldered to a 5 h. conically-shaped bottom made of perforated tin mesh. Tapering, tubular handle (4 1/2 l. with soldered closed end) is soldered to the cylindrical top. A triangular wooden dasher fits into the conical base and is held by a loop in a heavy steel wire stretch across and attached to the rim of the cylindrical top. The dasher is turned by a steel rod attached to the dasher, which extends up through the wire loop, then bends at a right angle to form a crank. The end of the crank is bent at a right angle to hold a black, turned wooden knob. 12 3/4 h. from the bottom of the sieving mesh to the top of the knob handle. There is a 1/4 d. x 7/8 l. rod extending out at a right angle from the side of the cylindrical top to which it is soldered, the purpose of which is unknown. Unmarked. Tinsmith made.
