Crystal flint with white opalescent spatter. Cased with polished rim. 3 3/4 h. Maker unknown. C. 1880s - 1890s. The use of flint glass in the U.S. all but ceased prior to theproduction of spatter glass. Since British glassmakers continued to use flint glass in cased glassware into the 1880s, this tumbler could be British in origin. Dirt particles incorporated in the base & scattered small bubbles in-the-making. Small chip on the interior of the rim o/w Fine (No defects).
