Lower (2 1/4 l.) & upper (7 l.) sections of the handle flattened from a 5/16 d. rod not flattened in the mid-section (3 1/2 d.) of the handle. Slightly tapered blade (4 l. x 3 3/8 at base). Lower handle section is well-shaped & curves into the blade ending in a arrow-shaped chamfered tip. The lower end of the mid-section of the handle also ends on a similar chamfered tip. Piercedhanging hole on the upper end of the handle. 16 1/2 l. This is a Pennsylvania piece of at most the 19th C. and could be older since handforgedfarm items in Pennsylvania were made in traditional designs & by traditional methods well into the 19th C.
