Faint evidence of an erasure in the upper right corner of the front free endpaper, original small price sticker on the front pastedown endpaper o/w Fine (No defects)/ DJ (Spine tanned; light tanning around the edges of the panels; 1 1/8' tear on the upper edge of the front panel; 1 1/4' & 1 1/2' tears on upper edge of the back panel; a tear across the spine o/w Very Good, i.e. signs of careful use no significant defects - All tears repaired with archival tape on the back of the jacket).

Unabridged and Corrected 2nd edition. 518pp. + 16pp. advertisements. sm8vo. Red cloth with black-lettered spine. 'Peter Smith' at bottom of spine indicating that this was bound for the library trade by arrangement with Dover. This is the corrected & unabridged 2nd edition containing the addition of Appendix III by Lewis, 'Final Note on System S2' (dated January 5, 1959). Lewis favored S2 as the correct system of Strict Implication among his 5 modal systems. Also included is a laid-in reprint of the one page 'Note Concerning Many-Valued Logic Systems' by Lewis, which appeared in the June 22, 1933 Journal of Philosophy. Spine faded, the front pastedown endpaper has several small scars suggesting the removal of a library envelop & label, top edge dusty o/w Very Good, i.e. signs of careful use with no significant defects.
