Unpaginated. Tall 8vo. Glossy pictorial wraps. Catalogue of 1529 items auctioned October 24th & 25th 1995 all illustrated with b/w photos & 16 plates in color. Mostly advertising & automtive related collectibles, but also toys, bikes, gasoline, motorcycle, signs, thermometers, clocks, pinbacks & racing, pedal cars, etc. etc.Includes a separate 10 page Prices Realized list for this auction. Catalogue has a crease across the lower spine o/w Near Fine, i.e. very minor signs of careful use with no significant defects. Prices Realized sheets have some light browning on their edges.

2 ..... MOUSEKETEER DONALD DUCK QUACKER BILL CAP.
Benay-Albee Novelty Co. 1960s. 
White felt (60% wool, 40% rayon) cap with yellow vinyl bill and plastic eyes. The hat's crown bears a stiff, circular, black felt piece with a white vinyl rim in the center of which is a blue, orange & silver label reading 'Mouseketeers/ Donald Duck/ Mickey Mouse Club/' and in small print 'Benay Albee Novelty Co., Inc.' & (copyright symbol) 'Walt Disney Productions'. A white vinyl ribbon is attached under the label. The bottom of the crown has a black vinyl rim. Light soiling to the label, a 1/2' section of wear along the lower edge of the bill, and the white felt shows some wrinkling with a very light section of stain along the bottom of the cap extending 3' back from the bill on one side (See photo).

Celluloid. Photolithographic image in Dark brown & cream. 1 1/4'd. Picture of John Harris, founder of Harrisburg, in center. The fund was founded about 1900 to erect the memorial. Backpaper: 'Made by Philip German, 105 South Second St. Harrisburg, Pa. Pat. May 30, 1900'. C. 1900s. (German [1849 - 1941] was a Harrisburg Bookseller during this period). Fine. 4 ..... Pinback: 'YOU CUT NO ICE'.
Thomas Jay Gleason [New York]. 
Celluloid. 7/8' d. pinback with 'You Cut No Ice' in black against cream. Unusual construction: flat brass back with pin shaft diecut out of back & raised. Stamped 'Thos. Jay Gleason Pat Apld For'. Gleason (often as 'T. J. Gleason') produced pinbacks & other novelties in New York & Brooklyn during the 1890s and as late as 1912. The expression originated in about 1896 & was popular through the early 1900s. Fine. [The stark white around the bottom of the face of the pinback in the scan is glare. 5 ..... Pinback: HOTEL AND RESTAURANT EMPLOYEES' INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE and BARTENDERS' INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE OF AMERICA.
Bastian Bros. Rochester, NY 
Celluloid. 1/2 d. B.B. Co./ ROCH.N.Y. [Bastian Bros. Rochester, NY] stamped on the metal back along with crossed tongs & tin snip within a circle within an oval enclosing UNION LABEL. This design was used into 1940s. The Hotel and Restaurant Employees International Alliance and Bartenders International League of America was organized in 1890 and received its charter from the American Federation of Labor in 1891. Its many affiliates and local unions in the U.S. & Canada have used different names over the years incorporating the types of food service workers they covered, which accounts for the appearance of their logo in many contexts. The union has register several very similar logos and H.R.E.I.A. since its inception, but the one on this pickback was registered April 21, 1943 with the serial number of 71460049. 4pp. 6 7/8 x 4 1/8 folded once. Card stock. Announcing a private viewing March 24th & a sale March 27th and 28th [1879]. Reserved Seat. Admit Mr. Dana [handwritten]. J. T. Coldwell, Auctioneer. Covers printed with an etching of typical 1870-80s oriental scenes. AMERICAN ART AUCTION CATALOGUES 1785-1942 A UNION LIST lists March 27, 1879. Boland, Fred. Fine oil paintings. Coldwell. 15 p. 78 lots. Copy: LC. (The Library of Congress, Division of Fine Arts), 693. The only Fred Boland listed in the 1860 (Fred), 1870 (listed twice as Fred & Fredrick) & 1880 (Fred'k.) in Philadelphia was born in 1840. He was listed as a gilt frame manufacturer in 1870 and in the looking glasses business in 1880. Pennsylvania Bureau of Industrial Statistics, Dept. of Internal Affairs, Bureau of Statistics of Labor and Agriculture (1877) lists Frederick Boland Philadelphia Looking Glasses Picture Frames and Bouquet Tables. His wife, Annie E. (nee Young), appears in the 1900 census as a widow. The two halves are detached, handwriting in pencil on page 2 Winter1878-9. Goldtoned, convex center embossed with 'AGS' & '29' and 
encircled with a light blue ring edged in gilt. This ring is in turn surrounded by a gilted, filigreed border. 1/2' x 1/2'. Bar mount safety clasp. Marked only 'Gold Front' on the back.
