303pp. + ads. sm8vo. Tan cloth with black lettering on front cover & spine. Dustjacket illustrated by R. Farrington Elwell, the highly regarded painter of cowboy & western themes. Fine (No defects)/ DJ (1/4' & 1/8' edge tears on the bottom of the front cover; a thin 3/4' l. scrape across the spine & another 1 1/4' l. beginning in the center at the base of the spine with a width of 1/8' & tapering to a point; spine slightly tanned with a tiny puncture; a little wear at the spine extremes; & a 3/8' edge tear on the top of the back o/w Fine with the cover illustration clean & bright). An unusually fine copy. See PHOTO.

320pp. sm8vo. Red cloth with black lettering on front cover & spine. Dustjacket has a colorful illustration (unsigned) of a cowboy on a rearing horse with native Americans in the background. Dane Coolidge (1873-1940) was a naturalist & writer of western novels. Fine (No defects)/ DJ (both corners at the bottom of the spine have a chip each about 3/8' along the sides of the spine; 1' tear starting from the top of spine & moving down along the right side of the spine; top of the spine worn; spine slightly darkened with scattered scuffs o/w Very Good, i.e. shows signs of careful use with no significant defects).

Reprint. 383pp. sm8vo. Maroon cloth with black lettering & a cover illustration of a ranger with a gun near a forest in black & gray. Black-lettered spine. Frontispiece & 3 other b/w plates by Frank Tenny Johnson. A previous owner's inscriptions (dated 1927) on both endpapers, weak front hinge, several small water spots on the back cover o/w Good, i.e. obvious signs of use with no major defects/ DJ (heavy spine discoloration; back has rubs & wear on left edge; paper tape across top & bottom & down the spine on the back of the cover; the front face has wear on the right side, but is o/w Very Good).
