1 JAPANESE NOVELTY LUSTERWARE SALT & PEPPER SHAKERS.

Porcelain. Handpainted. (1) HOUSE Shakers: Unmarked, but the set came in various colorswith tray carrying the mark of Noritake's Chikaramachi St. plant. 1 3/4h. Tiny chip on the back corner of the bottom of one shaker o/w Fine. (2) TOUCAN BIRD Shakers: Marked Made in Japan. 2 h. One shaker has glaze defects on its breast as shown. (3) FLOWER Shakers: Marked Japan. 1 h. Fine.

6 Keller & Guerin, Luneville, France. LUNEVILLE FLOW BLUE CUP.
1890s. 
Grayish dark blue over thin earthenware. The pattern consists of two stylized flower motifs arranged alternately to form a band of 10 flowers around the upper half of the cup. The bottom is stamped K et E Luneville France in green. The mark is that of Keller & Guerin who produced flow blue in the 1890s. Fine (no stains, cracks, chips or other defects).

8 Meiyo China, Japan. SCARCE NIPPON DRAGONWARE VANITY BOX.
1891 - 1921 
Oval shaped with Moriage (slip-trailed) dragon on a ruffled lid with gold trim. Glass eyes. Basic background of gray & white with some red & blue. White, pale blue & lavender slip on lid with gilted areas outlined in white slip. The sides of the boxhave the same background, but only lavender slip adornment. Bottom is 6 1/2x 4 5/8. Lid is 6 1/2 x 5. Stamped Meiyo China/ Nippon (Van Patton mark #185) in red & impressed B -567. The lid has 2 little scuffed areas & some missing slip around the tip of the longest flames & the base of the shortest (see photo) o/w Fine (No defects).

9 Pfaltzgraff Pottery Co., York, PA. PFALTZGRAFF MID-1930S ART DECO COOKIE JAR.
C. 1933 
Vellum matte green (original glaze name). Barrel-shaped with Art Deco graduated, concentricbands. Ear handles. Clear alkaline glazed interior & unglazed bottom. 8 1/4 h. Unmarked. Some of the ware was not marked except perhaps with a paper label. Paper labels were used, but it is not known whether all otherwise unmarked pieces carried them. Another cookie jar in blue (see 91-0539) is marked with a black stamped circle with The Pfaltzgraff Pottery Co. around the perimeter and York Pa. in the center. Crazing in the lower third of the interior o/w Fine (No defects). Cookie Jars are rather scarce. Domed lid with a sunflower finial, sunflower leaves around the dome, & an ornamentalfleur-de-lis-like band around the outer rim. Overall gray ground glaze. 7 1/2 d. across outer rim. 6 1/4 d. across inner rim, thus fitting into a top with about a 6 1/2 d. opening. Handpainted luster & non-luster glazes. 4 1/2 l. x 2 3/4 h. x 1 1/2 w. Backstamped in maroon with a bird in a circle & Hand Painted Made Japan in an outer circle. Markof SEIEI & Co, which was in business before WWII and appears to ceased about 1962. A glaze miss on a portion of the green on one side, a small blister on the bird's lower lip o/w Fine.

20 SIPE & SONS, WILLIAMSPORT, PA SIPE & SONS WILLIAMSPORT, PA DECORATED STONEWARE CROCK.
1867 - 1875. 
High shoulder slightly tapers into collared neck that flares out to a flat rim. The sides of the waist taper down to the 9 d. base 4 Gal. 12 3/4 h. 11across the rim & about 12 d. across the waist, which has applied ear handles flush with the side. Incised line around the shoulder. Salt-glazed exterior with Albany slip interior. Impressed Sipe & Sons W'MSPORT, PA & 4 swiped with cobalt blue. Brushed cobalt design of 2 bold flowers emerging from 4 leaves. Cobalt brushed at the ends of each handle. Founded in 1867 by WilliamSipe, and joined by his two sons shortly thereafter, Sipe & Sons Pottery operated until about 1875 when the Sipes were joined by Abram Young and Joseph Nichols and the pottery was operated as Sipe, Nichols & Co until 1877. 2 old spider cracks, a small chip under one of the handles, and some very minor chips on the interior side of the rim.
