A previous owner's signature in pencil on the front endpaper; endpapers, all leaves, & page edges uniformly tanned o/w Fine (No defects)/ DJ (Spine extremes worn, top of the spine has a 1/2' tear on one side & 1/4' on the other, 1/8' edge tear on the top of the front with several creases along the edge & some light wear, corners heavily worn with short tears in tops & bottoms of the flap folds o/w Very Good, i.e. signs of careful use with no significant defects).

The last page of the book lists 15 Burroughs titles of which 'The Bandit of Hell's Bend' (1926) is the latest. The same 15 titles are listed on the verso of the dustjacket with the addition of 'Pellucidar' (1923). Top edge dusty, textblock lightly tanned, light paste action on endpapers, a previous owner's name & date (1927) in ink on both pastedown endpapers o/w Very Good, i.e. signs of careful use with no significant defects/ DJ (1 1/2' missing section at the bottom of the spine including a small adjacent area on the back panel; triangular tear in middle of spine & back flap almost detached - both repaired with clear archival tape on the inside of the dustjacket; all edges worn. Visually, however, the front is Very Good. See PHOTO.

It has the dimensions (7 7/8' h. x 5 1/4') called for in the 3rd format, but lacks the cloth spine & the plain front with a stylized design. Spine very slightly sunned, top of spine & corners bumped o/w Fine (No defects). No dustjacket.
